Monique Rotteveel (32)
founder & designer

Hi! My name is Monique. I’m a graphic designer and colorful artist. Yoga and surfing are a very important part of my life. It has always been a challenge to find good bikinis and yoga pants that stay in place while surfing and during a yoga session.

I traveled for a while, backpacking around the world when I came to realize that packing light is key. You can’t carry your whole wardrobe with you all the time! Then this idea came up; how can I design the perfect Active Wear, one set of clothes that can be used for all types of sports, on land and in the water?

I started this clothing line in the summer of 2015 which was named differently. I have passed through some difficult obstacles before getting to where I am now. But I never gave up and Monique Rotteveel ® Active Wear was born in September 2016.

My goal is to create high-quality yoga & swimwear: functional & feminine designs with unique prints that I designed myself, and using only the best materials for the collection.

We want to leave a positive impact on the people and our planet: We produce our entire collection in Europe. Good working conditions, fair wages for the women and every piece is made with love, you can see and feel that when you wear our products!

Monique Rotteveel ® Active Wear is a member of 1% For The Planet ®, This means that from each of your purchases, we choose to donate 1% to a good cause. We choose projects that help clean up the plastic out of our Oceans.

We make the donations, all you have to do is shop your favorite items with us. Good for you, good for the planet. Thank you!

We are also working on getting all of our packaging plastic free, with biodegradable materials.

It’s so amazing to see so many beautiful, strong women in the water and in the studio, doing what they love and wearing our designs! Thank you so much chicas, without you, this would not be possible!
